Mixer Diodes
Mixer diodes are essentially sensitive receivers, making use of the non-linear properties of a diode rectifier to provide a down conversion to an intermediate signal frequency (IF). The IF is much lower than that received or transmitted at microwave frequencies, for example, to simplify, and reduce the cost of, other signal conditioning circuitry in the system. Conversely, in transmission, an up converter is then used to convert the IF to the required transmission frequency. A local oscillator provides the drive to a fast response, high cut-off frequency diode.
LEMS can manufacture bespoke mixer diodes given a specified frequency & application, for more details or to discuss you requirement please contact us.
